One of the Greatest Names in Racing
Created in Milan, Italy, as "ALFA" (Anonima Lombarda Fabbrica Automobili) in 1910, Alfa Romeo has been providing drivers with sports-oriented vehicles for more than 100 years. Within the company’s first year, its notable model, the 24 HP, was making a name for itself at worldwide races like the Targa Florio endurance race. In 1920, the name of the company was officially changed to Alfa Romeo as it launched its Torpedo 20-30 HP. This vehicle went on to gain popularity as a racecar and from there, the brand continued to successfully manufacture road and race vehicles.
In 1923, Ugo Sivocci finished first in the Targa Florio in an Alfa Romeo RL. The brand went on to win nine more Targa Florio races. The HP 24 then transformed into the ALFA 20-30 HP
From the Race to the Road
Over the years, Alfa Romeo’s success on racetracks crossed over into its production line of vehicles for the everyday road. During the 1970s, Alfa Romeo shook the automotive market once again when it launched the Alfasud, a front-wheel-drive hatchback designed to drive like a sports car.
This launch marked the start of the modern-day Alfa Romeo, which is now known for everyday vehicles with stand-out appearances and extraordinary performance and design. Throughout the 2000s, Alfa Romeo expanded its automotive model range with vehicles that hold true to its commitment to dynamic design. Vehicles like the GT in 2003 and the BC sports car in 2007 are some of the company’s most notable launches.
Routine Maintenance Schedule
Every automotive brand has suggested routine maintenance schedules to follow in order to keep your specific vehicle running to the best of its ability. Alfa Romeo follows a routine maintenance checkup schedule that has owners servicing vehicles every 10,000 miles or every year.
